Arsenal fan favourite restaurant Piebury Corner targeted by group of Napoli hooligans

A RESTAURANT popular with Arsenal fans was reportedly attacked by a group of Napoli fans prior to tonight's Champions League game at the Emirates Stadium

Piebury Corner, near the Arsenal stadium, was targeted by a group of Napoli fans

Piebury Corner had its shop windows smashed after dozens of hooligans ransacked the eatery and broke chairs while around 50 customers were inside.

The restaurant, a favourite of Gunners fans to eat at before kick-off, had to close after the 30-strong mob of thugs targeted it before Arsenal's game with Napoli.

Emily Gould, who works at the restaurant on Holloway Road, said: "I think they were Italianmen with Napoli colours and scarves tied around their faces.

"They were shouting something in Italian, chanting and causing trouble down the street.

"Then they came in to the shop. I was terrified. They started swinging belts around.

"The customers were very frightened."

Ms Gould said one customer had to be taken to hospital after suffering what she thought was a deep gash to the head after being hit by a belt buckle.

She added that many people inside Piebury Corner had to duck for cover as fans entered the building.
One employee said: "There is blood all over the floor.

"We have been told by police we cannot clear up yet because of the investigation.

"There is a lot of damage to the shop. The tables and chairs are wrecked."
